Throughout September and October, the RTIS Projects teams have demonstrated exceptional commitment and expertise, delivering a range of successful outcomes across various sites. Here are the highlights of our achievements and ongoing works during this productive period:

Doncaster to Scunthorpe Power Upgrades
Our teams in Doncaster have been hard at work on the 650V power upgrades for the Doncaster to Scunthorpe route. With rigorous testing completed, we reached two critical commissioning stages (6A & 7), successfully commissioning approximately 50 locations into operation. This phase was not only completed on time and within the project program but, most importantly, was achieved safely, underscoring our dedication to operational excellence.

Derby Adjustments
In Derby, our team carried out precise hand point adjustments and set up stretcher bars for a valued client. These detailed adjustments play a vital role in enhancing the reliability and safety of rail operations, reinforcing our commitment to high standards in infrastructure work.

Shipley Station and River Brue Signalling Surveys

  • Shipley Station: We conducted comprehensive signalling surveys and relocated Dis Boxes to optimize reliability and addressing both client and operational needs.
  • River Brue: Our team also completed a detailed signalling survey for a key client. This survey supports ongoing improvements and facilitates future projects .

Stratford Signal Recovery
At Stratford, our team provided critical support with the recovery of a Banner Repeater signal, ensuring it was safely removed. We then supervised the cable recovery process from the REB to the signal, following the removal of the BR head. This task was essential to maintaining safety and compliance at the site.

Maintenance and Fault Coverage at Depots
Our teams have been highly active across multiple depots, ensuring rapid response and effective maintenance:

  • Wembley, Bardon, Banbury, Kingsbury, and Canton Depots: Maintenance teams provided fault coverage, addressing incidents as they arose. At Canton Depot, we handled the complete rebuild and setup of points following a run-through incident, restoring full operational functionality.

Nationwide Support and Staffing
Beyond project work, RTIS has supplied specialist signalling personnel, civil works support, and safety-critical operatives to sites nationwide. Our teams have been actively supporting locations in Romford, Bicester, Ferrybridge, and Cambridge, as well as providing essential Network Rail roster coverage at West Ealing and Paddington.

Our teams continue to demonstrate resilience, skill, and a proactive approach to both scheduled and emergency tasks, helping to ensure the safety, reliability, and enhancement of the rail network across the UK. The past few months have been a testament to RTIS’s commitment to excellence and safety, setting a strong foundation for the upcoming projects ahead.
