RT Infrastructure Solutions (RTIS) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a key contract by Amey to carry out vital treadle modification works. This essential project aims to enhance road user safety by addressing the risks associated with wrong-direction train movements at Codford, Upton Lovell, and Wylye level crossings.
The project will involve identifying affected treadles and converting them to directional operation, ensuring that strike-in treadles activate only in the normal direction of travel, thereby preventing unintended activations by wrong-direction moves. To maintain cost efficiency and align with best practices in the Western Region, Twin Arm Forfex Treadles will be installed to replace single-arm configurations.
As part of the upgrade, RTIS will deliver a comprehensive package of signalling works, including:
- Provision of a Signalling Engineering Manager for all sites
- Signalling Surveys for all sites
- Signalling Installation
- Signalling Prep Testing for all sites
- Scheme/Bonding Plan Verification for all sites
- Signalling Test & Commissioning for all sites
- Production of SWTH Testing Documentation
- SMTH Testing Support for First Train Movements
- Signalling Recoveries
RTIS is proud to support Amey in delivering these safety-critical enhancements, reinforcing its expertise in railway signalling solutions and its commitment to maintaining a reliable and secure rail network.
