As we bid farewell to November, it’s a fitting time to reflect on the milestones and accomplishments that have defined this month for our teams, here is a glimpse into the endeavours that shaped this month’s journey.

In a month dominated by audits, RTIS proudly announces the reapproval of our FORS Bronze accreditation, successful completion of our 9-monthly BSI ISO 9001:2015 audit, ISO 45001:2018, and ISO 14001:2015 First Stage Audits. We’ve been recommended to progress to our Second Stage Audit for certification in February 2024. Our HSQE Advisor conducted 9 internal audits, raising only 2 NCRs across all business disciplines.

Externally audited by Intertrain on behalf of City & Guilds, our Signalling Training collaboration received high praise for our facilities and training quality. These achievements, passing audits with flying colours, showcase our teams’ tireless efforts to uphold required standards and protocols essential for our accreditations. A heartfelt appreciation goes to Kelsey Vincent & Daisy Hendry, our FORs manager and HSQE Advisor, who both work extremely hard to ensure the audit process runs smoothly and ties in within our quality management system and health and safety.

RTIS in November remained committed in providing Adept Signalling Engineers, Safety Critical personnel, and Civils staff Nationwide to esteemed clients such as, Atkins, Colas, Balfour Beatty, Siemens, Alstom, Network Rail, Global, Murphys and Volker Rail. RTIS staff worked 186,100 hours to date in 2023 with 0 major incident or accidents.

Our Projects team was actively occupied throughout November, including the successful completion of the North Wales Coast Mainline Signalling Life Extension Works (NWC2).

The project involved RTIS delivering the replacement of 28 x filament style signals to more modern LED lightweight signals, with the updates providing a more reliable and maintenance free asset to Network Rail. RTIS delivered the signalling management, surveying, installation, prep testing, test & commissioning activities during this project. With the continual progression to other ongoing projects.

Throughout this year, our training division has been actively engaged in instructing and recertifying individuals both RTIS staff and Client Staff in rail signalling, Telecoms, and Electrical qualifications. Participants in our courses have consistently provided positive feedback on our cutting-edge in-house facilities and our trainers, who are committed to going the extra mile in ensuring a valuable learning experience for each attendee.

We are thrilled to announce that our very own Operations/HR Manager, Nadine Wood, has been appointed as the Chair of the Suffolk Employer Engagement Group (SEEG). Nadine takes over from Dr. Christopher Bushby as of November 1st, 2023. This is a tremendous honour for our company, as we have worked hard over the past four years to uphold our commitment to the Armed Forces Community, Reservists, and our own teams.
