RT Infrastructure Solutions (RTIS) has officially begun supplying signalling rail staff under Transport for London’s (TfL) rail labour framework, with services going live from June 2026.

The framework has been established to support the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance, renewals and enhancement works across TfL’s rail network, including London Underground and London Overground.

Supplying Signalling Personnel

From June 2026, RTIS has been mobilising experienced SMTH competent personnel to projects across the capital. These roles are central to managing signalling risks and ensuring safe systems of work, particularly within London’s complex and high‑usage rail infrastructure.

RTIS is providing qualified SMTH personnel dedicated to the Elizabeth Line, with the personnel supporting RfLI Signalling Project works. The positions are intended to support the IMD Supervisor (Signals) fulfil the business needs for carrying out Signalling Faulting, Maintenance, Renewals and Inspection activities in the Elizabeth Line COS and Signalling overlay areas at Fringes. The term will be for an initial 12-month duration.

The appointment reflects RTIS’s capability in delivering signalling labour through robust competence management, compliance assurance and a strong safety culture.

A spokesperson for RT Infrastructure Solutions said:

“Commencing supply under the TfL labour framework is a significant milestone for RTIS. We are proud to be supporting TfL and its delivery partners with experienced SMTH staff who play a crucial role in maintaining safe worksites across the network.”

Framework Focus on Compliance and Assurance

The TfL framework sets stringent requirements around competence, training, medical compliance and safety assurance. All signalling labour supplied must meet defined standards to ensure consistency and reduce risk across programmes.

RTIS’s inclusion in the framework demonstrates its ability to meet these requirements while supplying reliable, well‑briefed personnel for signalling activities.

Supporting London’s Rail Programme

The framework supports a wide range of planned and reactive works, including night shifts, weekend possessions and specialist access requirements. By securing experienced signalling staff from framework suppliers, TfL aims to improve planning certainty, programme resilience and on‑site safety performance.

Since starting supply, RTIS has been supporting early framework activities, with further deployments planned with more signalling personnel as works progress throughout the year.

The TfL rail labour framework now forms a key part of TfL’s long‑term strategy to secure critical skills, maintain high safety standards and support the ongoing delivery of rail infrastructure across London.
