Working with Balfour Beatty, RT Infrastructure Solutions (RTIS) provides highly skilled signalling support for both plain line and switches and crossings (S&C) projects on Network Rail's infrastructure.

The delivery of Network Rail’s £3.5 billion track renewals programme comprises of three major rail companies, Colas Rail, Babcock and balfour beatty. Under this arrangement the railway network is then subsequently divided into specific geographical areas covering all of the UK’s main and branch lines.

Working with Balfour Beatty, RT Infrastructure Solutions (RTIS) provides highly skilled signalling support for both plain line and switches and crossings (S&C) projects on Network Rail’s infrastructure. 

Of particular note with these works has been the collaborative mentality of Balfour Beatty to accept not just experienced RTIS signalling engineers, but also new and emerging RTIS staff who been through extensive in-house training programmes to give them the required underpinning knowledge.

Through careful planning and coordination with Balfour Beatty signalling managers, RTIS provides competent and skilled IRSE licensed signalling staff who are capable of installing new signalling equipment to signalling installation standards, but also disconnecting, re-connecting and then testing signalling assets under SMTH /G110 procedures. Track renewals possessions are normally very intense, and provide the main contractor and its sub contractors with a true test of its capabilities. Under normal circumstances the possessions are kept to a minimum and are signed back into use ready for commuter traffic the very next day.  

Since supplying skilled signalling staff to Balfour Beatty on these works RT Infrastructure Solutions has accrued over 63,100 man hours with no reported RIDDOR or major accidents upon the multiple sites worked.
