June News update

As we move into the summer of 2017 we can look back on a busy last few months with our trackside works. We have once again covered a wide spectrum of signalling works, whether it be installing new signalling equipment, SMTH/G110 works or SWTH type activities.

In addition signalling works, we have also covered other rail works such cable pulling, civils works and the supply of safety critical grades which form part of our overall capabilities. This part of our business is headed up by Nadine French and her team who have a wealth of experience in finding the right staff for any requirements that you may have.

Our works have been for a wide range of customers and throughout June alone, we have supported our customers on major sites such as those at Waterloo, Bristol, Dartford, WAML, Shenfield and Pudding Mill Lane. A key deliverable was to help one of our customers with a significant amount of cable diversions in a high profile part of the UK rail network, within a very limited possession. Using our IRSE licensed personnel we successfully managed to disconnect 72 multi-core cables, renew all cables with new, then terminate and test under SMTH/G110 all within the same possession. We were commended for our efforts and quality to achieve this, and the knock on effect enabled key civils and Pway works to commence on time and to programme.

On the training front we have trained many of our staff on K Type Axle Counter conversion courses and can now offer SMTH/G110 staff competent to test K Types. We have also continued with the personal development of our staff by utilizing our sister company RT Training Solutions. Underpinning signalling courses such as BS2 and SSI have been provided for our staff, along with Safe Work Leader refresher courses actively being taken to meet NWR deadlines.

As we move into the second half of 2017 we look forward to cementing the many customer relationships that we have, and to continue providing what we believe is a first class service to the rail industry.
