New Engineers for RTIS

Working in conjunction with our sister company RT Training Solutions, we are pleased to announce a further 6 trainee signalling engineers who are now competent, ready and available to add to our growing work force. Through our continued partnership with the Career Transition Programme (CTP) the majority of these candidates have come from a military background who are all seeking a long –term engineering career in the railway signalling sector. Our continued partnership with the CTP shows our true commitment to finding & developing newly talented people, often with transferrable skills into the railway signalling environment.

The trainees will be mentored by existing RTIS signalling staff and over a period of many months the training skills they have learnt will be put into practice in a real live railway environment. Our latest trained engineers will become our IRSE licensed personnel of the future in roles such as supervisors, SMTH/G110 team leaders, SWTH testers and installation staff.

The trainees have successfully passed courses in Personal Track Safety, Signalling Appreciation, Basic Signalling 1, Electrical Principles 1, Diagram Reading, E.I.S.S, Confined Spaces, Signalling Plant, Manual Handling, First Aid and SPWEE.  The courses are designed to cover a mixture of both technical and practical assessments, with candidates learning key skills that will be required for their roles working within RTIS’s signalling teams. More courses for new aspiring signalling engineers are already in place for 2017, with the intention being to grow our reputation in producing first class IRSE signalling engineers of the future.
